Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ (EBSB) is a program launched by Government of India on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 140th birthday on 31st October 2015 to foster national integration through a coordinated mutual engagement process between States, Union Territories, Central Ministries, Educational Institutions and general public through linguistic, literary, cultural, sports, tourism and other forms of people-to-people exchanges. Under this scheme, Government College Daman is paired with the Colleges under U.T. of Puducherry, earlier known as Pondicherry, to augment the spirit of mutual understanding and to celebrate the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’ in the country.
On 14th December 2019, Government College Daman EBSB Club was inaugurated for the purpose of conducting various activities under the aegis of EBSB. It is composed of a few faculty members and 50 interested and active students selected through various competitions (quiz, extempore, dance, etc). The 4th Saturday of each month is celebrated as EBSB day. The club has till date undertaken many activities on club days and separately. The club has been actively functioning even during the lockdown time, through online platforms.
